Overview
The Kindle Center offers 8-week social skills groups after school and on Saturdays. Each child will be placed into a group of 3-6 students based on age and current skills. Individualized objectives will be created and will be tracked via data collection through out the group. Each group will be overseen by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with 1 to 2 assistants. If your child is in need of further assistance, a 1:1 assistant will be provided for an additional fee.
Who is Eligible?
Our social skills groups are for children between the ages of 3 and 15 who
may have social skill difficulties or deficits. An initial assessment will
be conducted to determine an appropriate placement of your child into a
group of children with similar skill levels. We will then determine your
child's individualized objectives.
Social Skills Curriculum
The Kindle Center uses a social skills curriculum based on developmental milestones. This involves skills such as initiating interactions with peers, eye contact, body language, sharing, cooperative play, responding appropriately to conflict, appropriate behavior in public places, empathy, perspective taking, etc. Each of the social skills will be taught using social stories, video-modeling, direct feedback, prompt fading and role-playing.
